Over the next few weeks we will be developing themes and topics for discussion and shared learning open to everyone interested in being part of our community. We’d like to hear from you about topics and issues you’d like to see as part of our blog community. Please bookmark this blog so you can return again and again.

It would help to hear from those who manage SEC.8-202 housing for the elderly- what their issues and problems have been with GHA (GEORGIA HAP ADMINISTRATORS) who come out annually to review tenant files.
At my sites, office staff has become continually irritated with these reviews and the time-consuming minutia that we are subjected to. It would help if GHA were required to standardize requirements and do more general reviews versus the nonsense and time it takes for managements to respond to what is extremely minor nonsense.

ALSO,we don’t know about anyone else out there, but our staff has become progressively annoyed with the endless volume of forms and redundency of procedures required BY HUD/GHA. We can

We can understand that some form of review isnecessary and that HUD does need to make changes–occasionally–but not continuously.
The problems are as follows: 1.Too many forms. 2.Too many forms which must be signed each year and given out in copies to tenants and for our files–the redundency is excessive. 3. It takes too long to train new
persons. 4. The burdensome paperwork and endless procedures are turning administering a senior housing site into a mere sweatshop, instead of providing staff with more time to deal with real resident issues and concerns. Perhaps AAHSA should address these issues on our behalf with GHA/HUD.
